The Fire Prevention Bureau of the the Frankfort Fire Protection District, commonly referred to as the Fire Marshal's Office, provides the leadership and inspection services to help prevent fires and assure fire and life safety for people who live, work and travel through the Fire District.
Plan Reviews
Effective December 12, 2024**
Dear Contractor, Designer, or Applicant, the Frankfort Fire Protection District will no longer be conducting plan reviews in house. The Frankfort Fire Protection District will be utilizing a private consultant for fire protection system plan reviews. The consultant is Fire Safety Consultants Inc. (FSCI) located in Elgin, Illinois. FSCI is one of the largest third-party plan review companies in the United States and provides plan review services to more than 170 municipalities located throughout the nation.
Plans and payment are to be submitted directly to FSCI. Please refer to the FSCI website for information on how to submit plans electronically. The website address is www.firesafetyfsci.com. For more information or questions, you can email info@firesafetyfsci.com or call 847-697-1300.
Once the plans have been reviewed, the District’s Fire Prevention Bureau will provide the results of the review along with any commentary. At this time an invoice will be issued for the permit fee and any required inspections.
Please note that contractors shall be licensed by the Village of Frankfort and be certified to the appropriate NICET level. Fire sprinkler contractors shall also hold a valid license by the State of Illinois. Electricians must also have an Illinois State Electrical License.
