State certified training classes are offered to all department members. These classes are brought to the organization by the ways of in-house, college classes, Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, and the State Fire Marshals office.

The Frankfort Fire District is a host site for the annual MABAS DIV 19 Fire Fighter II Academy. This course totals over 250 hours of didactic and hands on activities. Upon successful completion of the course all students are eligible to challenge the State of Illinois Certified Firefighter II exam.

The Fire District is a direct feeder for Joliet Junior College and their Fire Science Program.

The Frankfort Fire District in partnership with the Mokena and New Lenox Fire Districts were part of a $100,000.00 grant for education and training. The grant was secured by Representative Renee Kosel. Items that have been purchased with the grant money include; Flashover Fire Simulator, tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, fax machine, copier, materials to build a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) maze, materials to build a RIT simulator for Firefighter rescue, materials for a roof/ventilation simulator, plus miscellaneous items that will enhance the training base of our area fire/rescue members.

The Training Center is located at Frankfort Station #3, for more information on classes and the associated costs of classes please contact Division Chief Robert Wilson, Fire/Rescue Training Coordinator at 815.469.1700.
